Back in the Saddle Again!!!

Woah. It's been 5 years since my last post. I'm surprised that this thing is still up! Much has happened in 5 years...started a career, met a guy, bought a house, got engaged, became a grownup!

Everything looked perfect on paper but somewhere along the way I forgot who I am and what's important to me. I'm single again for the first time in almost 6 years and am struggling to be independent.

The last 4 months have been a wild ride and there is surely more to come as I start the next chapter of my life. I'm on a mission to find "me" again and have a pretty good idea where I should start looking...Europe :)

Wednesday...half way there!

Flagstaff

Yeah, so this whole job thing kinda wears on ya. Things have been super stressful recently because the book is going to press tomorrow in all 200 pages of its glory and we still have 2 outstanding ads. Art deadline was 2 weeks ago people!

One would think that if you are spending $5000+ on an ad, you could at least get it there. Bluelines (book proof)went out yesterday, corrections are being made today, and everything needs to be uploaded to the printer by 10am tomorrow. Deep Breaths. One more day of this craziness and then some downtime before round 2.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Who would have thought? With temperatures as high as 85 degrees this weekend the last thing I expected to wake up to this morning was a blanket of powder covering the ground and flurries in the air. Everything looks so beautiful when it is covered in white!

Breck was dumped on with 22 inches last night and A-basin is scheduled to open in 12 days! Temperatures here in Denver are expected to rise into the 70's again by the end of the week however the mountains should stay cool and snowy.

What a great start to the season. I'm taking my board in tomorrow to get waxed, sharpened, and ready to go! I love winter!

The Real World

Denver Airport

No, not the show on MTV, but the big leap into adulthood that most everyone has taken but me. Well, not anymore. I am officially a grown up.

No more winters in Vail, spur of the moment trips to Vegas, and summers in Europe. I have decided to be responsible and put my degree to use.

Tomorrow I will be starting work at Wiesner Publishing as the Ad Trafficking Manager for their Senior Market Advisor Magazine. Yes, a manager…that means I have an assistant. How cool! I will be handling all the ads and act basically as a liaison between the Sales and Graphic Design Departments as well as oversee the work of the Assistant Manager.

It will be wonderful to finally have heath insurance, and with dental as well I'm sure my dentist will be happy to see me after my 3-year absence. Oops.

As another big grown up step, John and I will be getting an apartment together. We are moving next weekend into a 2 bed 2 bath unit in the same building where I used to live with Heidi. We will have an office/guest room so you all are welcome to come and visit.

Crazy stuff I know. But after 2 years of play I am finally ready to settle down. Denver is officially my home now.

Bye Bye Colorado

Bye Bye Colorado

I've been quite a slacker on my blog. These last few weeks have been super busy with job searching and all. Being unemployed sure isn't what it is made out to be. Hopefully this situation wonn't last for long.

So anyways, last weekend Heather and I took a road trip to Moab, Utah to go camping with a bunch of girls. Lots of fun. Arches National Park was amazingly beautiful. The terrain was like walking on the moon.

One of the girls in the group used to date a rafting guide in Moab so she knew about a bunch of secret hikes and waterfalls that only the locals know. How cool.

Anyways, that's what has been going on. Going to the Dave concert tomorrow at Red Rocks. It's the first concert he has played there in 10 years...since his live CD. I can't wait. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I heart Berlin

Berlin

This city is amazing. If I could live anywhere in Europe it would be here. Funny to think that had I not booked a flight to Norway out of Berlin I would have never visited this incredible city.

I can't exactly pin point why I love Berlin so much, it just feels like home. The architecture is remarkable, the city is clean and well kept, public transportation is comprehensive and beyond any rail system I've yet to see, the history is vast and well preserved, and still there is something more. Something that just makes you feel comfortable and welcome.

I love Berlin!
